A CHANCE AT SLAMDANCE, ‘09

  • Launches: September 8th
    Ends: November 10th, 11:30PM (PST)

Current TV understands how important it is for filmmakers to be showcased in the best festivals. So, for the second year in a row we've teamed up with Slamdance Film Festival to give you a chance to have your short documentary shown at the premiere North American indie film showcase!

Slamdance Film Festival and Current are presenting a call for short documentary films, providing filmmakers the opportunity to participate in the Park City experience. Five selected filmmakers will shine on the big screen in January 2009 as part of a Current and Slamdance curated shorts program, as well as get a chance to have their uploaded documentary considered for acquisition for Current TV.

So shred the festival rejection letters and upload that short documentary that you KNOW the world has got to see to current.com/slamdance

    IN MORE DETAIL:

To kick off Slamdance 2009, we want you to submit a short (3-10 minute) documentary film. Make something fresh, new, authentic and exciting about a topic that is relevant to you and your community as well as related to current events or new trends. Upload it to www.current.com/slamdance before November 10th at 11:30PM.

The Slamdance programming committee in conjunction with Current TV creative executives will select five of the uploaded films for inclusion in a curated shorts program, screening in regular rotation at Slamdance 2009. A representative from each film will receive a festival filmmaker pass, a chance to have their uploaded film considered for acquisition by Current TV, and a chance to pitch new short documentary ideas to Current TV creative execs.
