Learn processes for creative fire effects.

    Advanced Cinematography Workshop

    Saturday, April 20, 2013 | 1:00pm-5:00pm
    Manhattan, New York City

    What You Will Learn:
Discussion and Analysis: Fire ranges from a comforting glow in the hearth to a wild   conflagration raging through a forest. We will look at a few scenes from   well-known films and discuss the fire effects on peoples’ faces and the   walls, and how this reflects the mood of the scene. We will cover what   the cinematographer needs to consider when building these effects, and   then learn the process in creating them.  Exercise: Without   building an actual fire, we will light a scene as if a fire is burning   just off-camera, with the firelight being reflected onto the scene. The   key is to make a realistic effect. Students will assume key positions on   the crew.

    Who Should Attend:
All   levels of filmmakers, videographers, cinematographers, camera   operators, directors, producers, content creators, convergence shooters,   journalists, and all other crew positions. The workshop is designed for students and professionals.
