Winter is by far the favorite season for many because of the delights that it has to offer. With this occasion, Student Filmmakers challenges you to showcase how winter looks in your part of the world! Even though you live in a place with piles of snow or piles of sand, we are excited to see it through your lens!
This contest is open to the Student Filmmakers community members. In order to enter our contest, you need to create an account (if you haven’t already) on our forums ( Motion Picture Production Forums ), head to the subforum "Winter Photo Contest" and post your photo as a thread in our "Winter Photo Contest" subforum before the deadline. Only one photo per participant is admitted.
The contest will take place between 28’th January and 28’th February and the winner will be announced on the 2’nd March!
Each submission must be original work of entrant and must not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights of any person of entity. By submitting your photo for this contest, you give us permission to further use and publish and use your image on our website and in our magazine. All photographs of any person must have the permission of that person (or parent/legal guardian) authorizing contest entry and the rights set forth above for use of the photo. We may contact you via email to request a model photo release.
JUDGING
A panel of staff members together with a judge will select the Grand Prize Winner based on the following criteria: clarity and quality of the image, composition, color, lighting, exposure and focus. It will also be taken into consideration the number of reactions that a post will have.
Our selected judges: Roy H. Wagner, ASC and M. David Mullen, ASC will be judging the “Winter Photo Contest: From the Tropic to the Arctic.”
Once a winner will be selected, he will be notified both on e-mail and in a private message on our forums. We will announce the winner in a comment on our Contest post.
THE PRIZE
The winner of our Winter Photo Contest will get featured in our next magazine issue in a professional interview, where we will also showcase his Contest photo. The interview will also be sent to our newsletter database of over 98 000 subscribers, on our websites front page and on our forums.
GOOD LUCK!
We are excited to see how winter looks through your lens, from the tropic to the arctic!
