Can any1 tell me what effect this is?

    from the very first 3 seconds from this video 

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_y214WVbvFE&feature=fvwI figured it's  "Wave Warp" from After Effects ... but I'm not sure ..It's not the same either there are further effects (besides resizing the image)....

    i doubt they drew it...:) besides i found the effect settings in premiere pro wave warp version

    doamne maura...uneori....ma intreb de ce imi pun mintea cu tine...chiar vroiam rasp de la unu care stie...nu de la careva care scrie prostii...si sustine prostii..ok ai zis k e de mana...astept si alte pareri...

    Eu vorbeam serios, din cate stiu, anime'urile se fac desenate frame by frame, nu in After Effects. Daca vrei sa recreezi efectul in After Effects, asta nu stiu cum e, dar in Vegas se poate utilizand masking + warp de la pluginul New Blue FX, care din cate am inteles, este si pentru Premiere, AE, Edius, FCP, etc. Desi s'ar putea realiza si fara masking, cu Twirl (e tranzitie), care la randul lui face parte din pluginurile Blue FX. http://www.newbluefx.com/Here you go, the answer to your question, happy?

    I think it was a custom equation in After Effects.  Wave Warp isn't that precise, nor that smooth in the quick transition.

    When you get into more advanced AE techniques, beyond just dropping in a plugin, you can make custom algorithms to manipulate the pixels or to move layers around.  There are thousands of websites out there that have good tutorials for this.  http://creativecow.com is a good one.
