I hear the image is great but not as great as other cameras and it has poor battery life, No 4K Raw, No 6K ProRes, and Limited autofocus options.
I would go with a Sony or Canon camera which will do anything blackmagic cameras will do better, more affordable, but most importantly their support is excellent. That is something you need to think about. Also, Sony has some things in the pipeline that will not only be on par or better image-wise but a much lower in cost. For students, indie filmmakers, and professionals I think you will do better with Sony or Canon.
I hear the images are great as well and many recommend it. I believe the best method would be to rent the latest equipment, as there are many rental services available these days
