Film Music Starters...

Ok, to get the threads going, I have a few questions:

    1. What do you, as the composer, find to be the more common forms of production for movies?

My initial input to this question, is that does it seem more and more directors are for computer-based (e.g. MIDI/DAW produced), or are alot still really wanting more live production?

    2. What do you find, taking the answer to #1 into consideration, is the most productive and efficient ways of doing this?

My initial input to this question is, is there a particular software program, piece(s) of hardware, or even particular manuscript source (for those that "do it on paper") that you find works best for your work?

    3. What styles do you enjoy writing in the most? Examples might be baroque, romantic, solo piano, full orchestra, etc.

For me, those seem to be the most important questions any composer can ask, whether new or seasoned. What does the customer want? What is the best means to achieve the desired result? What favorite styles influence my writing?

Thank you all for your time and patience,

    MikeĀ
