A Jewish cemetery is a cemetery where members of the Jewish faith are buried in keeping with Jewish tradition. Known in Hebrew as "house of eternity," the land of the cemetery is considered holy and a special consecration ceremony takes place on its inauguration.

At the end of many Hebrew tombstone you find the letters "תנצבה", which is an acronym of a verse from the Bible, from the first book of Samuel, 25:29, "May his soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life". (Thanks to PIX IN MOTION by Leo Bar for the translation)
