Timecrafters: The Treasure of Pirate’s Cove – Trailer

Posted by Corbin Peters
While searching for lost treasure, time traveling pirates end up in the modern day and do battle with unlikely foes: a group of kids with the latest in techy gadgetry. Starring: Denise Richards as Victoria Dare Eric Balfour as Pistol Malcolm McDowell as Captain Lynch Patrick Muldoon as Mr. Dare We shot this movie in 2019 with a predominantly Blare Media camera, grip, and lighting crew. Principal photography took place in Los Angeles, Mendocino, and Fort Bragg, California. It was almost a month-long shoot with some pickups. We were fortunate to be able to shoot the majority of it with a Red Monstro camera with Sigma Primes. To get shots out on the sea we used a rear projection system extensively that helped us shoot “practically” on the pirate ship that was constructed completely from scratch for the production. It was made in an ingenious way as to have each side made for a different ship and was on a massive Lazy Susan so that we could spin it around inside the studio depending on the footage we needed to get. We shot about ¼ – ⅓ of the movie in studio which worked out really well for the caves, club house, ship interiors, and several other sets. We had a lot of fun making the movie and especially enjoyed being able to work with Denise, Eric, Malcolm, and Patrick. The director of photography credits A Clockwork Orange as one of his favorite films and so he was particularly excited to work with Malcom McDowell. Crew brought to the project by Blare Media: Justin McAleece … director of photography Ian McAleece … gaffer Troy Ruff … first assistant camera / second unit James Codeglia … first assistant camera John Young … second assistant camera Matthew Jeff … grip / second unit Leonard Mcleod … key grip (LA) Cody Fletcher … key grip (NorCal) Jeremy Owen … electric David Codeglia … boom operator Ken Codeglia … sound mixer Michael Barnard … art dept assistant
