Courageous Persuaders is a high school video scholarship competition created to make a difference in the tragic statistics related to underage drinking. The competition encourages high school students to apply their creative talents in the creation of 30-second public service announcements that stress the message of the dangers of underage drinking. Middle school students review and judge the videos and determine the scholarship winners.
Videos must be uploaded on www.courageouspersuaders.com no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012.
Please review the official rules on http://www.courageouspersuaders.com/rules.htm.
The winners are awarded scholarships for their creativity and effectiveness, and these awards are presented at the annual Courageous Persuaders Awards Celebration, planned for May 2012 (held in Michigan). The grand prize commercial will be broadcast on television.
High school students (grades 9-12) attending a United States High School can participate; emphasis is placed on concept and the message of underage drinking prevention, not on production values. Students are encouraged to use whatever video equipment is available to them. Teachers and principals, school audio/visual departments, parents and community leaders are urged to share their equipment and lend local support by promoting the program as a very unique scholarship competition that is fun to participate in and has a powerful impact on a serious problem.
