There are 2 fundimentals that will guide you well. 1) Raw Passion 2) Education

The first one you cant buy or learn. Its in you or its not.

The second one has many forms. Go to a 4 year college and earn a degree in film making/editing/producing. Engage in as many open film events as possible and stay on top of your objectives. Always BE networking for possible funds for your projects and always keep in touch with eveyone you meet. Study and understand film, feel the light and dark of every genre and be well versed in its history; you want to sound educated and sharp. Underastand the camera and its movement. Explore the boundaries by creating new ways to protray happiness and pain. Love what you and be very patient.

    Hi Guys,

I hope all is well with everyone. There are many answers to this question and they should go along these lines. This is what YOU MUST HAVE before you begin thinking about money. The foundation of your film is a plan. A business plan to be exact. In that business plan you will tell an investor every single thing he wants to know and may want to know.  Describe what you are doing, how long it will take, the resources needed, the objective and the potential outcome. Why are you making this film, what good will it serve in the community. What is your leadership team and what objectives do each of your leaders have in mind. How will you make money with the developed product, when will your investors see any revenue, how will you be compensated and how will you compensate your team. What is your film like, is this a good time for your film and why. Consider your target audience and their needs. and lastly when will your investros see some profit. How much are you asking for (be specific) Please note this is a very short list to get you thinking of what it entails to ask for money. if you need a hand with your business plan please contact [email protected] with your objectives and we will happily guide you through the business plan process and if yours is very good we will happily put you in contact with some venture capital.

    Kind regards
